Fresh asparagus is now avaible at the Market in Clare Mi just off the second (north) Clare exit. The Michigan asparagus crop is a little late this year due to the colder temperatures we had this spring but it is ready now. You can buy fresh asparagus at the market from 10 AM to 8 PM or so every day of the week.
Can I Freeze Asparagus?
People have been asking if you can freeze asparagus and the answer is Yes. You can freeze asparagus and it will keep in a deep freezer for up to one year so you can enjoy it year round if you love asparagus. Freezing asparagus is a great way to keep the vegetable especially if you like it fresh and slightly crispy. You can also can asparagus by you loose the cruchy feel of the vegetable and it gets a little mushy, it’s still really good though.
